The Lizard is in the queue for a new state-of-the-art Tamar-class lifeboat to replace our trusty, 19-year-old Tyne-class boat and we have started fund-raising to help towards the £2 million cost of  the new boat.  The new Tamar-class lifeboats, to be built at Plymouth, are fast 25 knot boats which will get our crews out to rescue scenes even faster.
